Not far now…..its seems like it was eons ago that the last episode of Stargate SG-1 Season 10 was on the air.
Leaving us wanting
Soon we will know the fate of the Orii and SG-1…i can hardly wait.
What a sad sad episode.
Sad in that it wasn’t a particularly good final episode for a series that has been on the air for 10 years.
So they do the aging thing to see what a future might be..Vala and Daniel hookup – marvelous.
It stretched way too long and was just too slow. For such a great show to go out on such whimper is just plane lame.
The greatest final episode of a SciFi show remains Star Trek TNG’s ‘ All Good Things Must Come To An End.’ Why? Not cause it’s trek, and not cause it was an ending but because it wove the past with the future into an omnibus of 7 years of TNG.
If the series finale of Stargate SG-1 could only have been so good…where was Jack O’Neil, the G’ould? An actual Orii prior??
Luckily we know that it’s not really the end. There are at least 2 straight to DVD movies….and the hope that NBC Universal will get off their frakking tails and bring the show back.
Good bye for now Stargate SG-1 …it’s been a great run and we hope to see you again soon.

Adria has ascended. WOOHOO.
Neat episode that gives the Orisii even more power than she had before..will she fight the ancients directly now?? who knows..
And B’aal? Is he dead? (I don’t think so).
I can hardly contain myself to see the final episode..but hey we all know there is a straight for DVD movie to come in another two months that will actually END this story line..so the Series Finale won’t quite be a real Finale will it?

With only a pair of episodes to go..this is the kind of crap they throw at us.
Ah well I guess with Mitchell’s Kansas homecoming they had to do a Vala personal issues episode too. Kinda cutesy at times – and hey Vala rocks so i’d be a moron to complain too much.

Only 3 episodes left and Stargate SG-1’s story is really quite far from completion – guess that’s why they’ve got the direct to DVD movies coming in early summer.
Basic enough episode with Teal’c going after a rogue Jaffa that has aligned with Orii. Nothing great, nothing really bad -it’s just kinda there.
Hope that the next three episode ratchet this show up a bit..at this rate it’s going out with whimper rather than a bang.
Stargate SG-1 10×16 Bad Guys May 21, 2007Posted by showmescifi in science fiction, sciencefiction, scifi, stargate, stargate sg1.
Not a bad episode at all. There have been a few episodes over the years where SG-1 is mistaken for bad guys in a first contact situation but this is one of the better attempts.
What was clearly missing though was whether or not this planet had been visited or ruled by the Gould at one point…i wonder…
but i guess the Orii are on the way…
Stargate SG-1 10×12 Bounty May 11, 2007Posted by showmescifi in science fiction, sciencefiction, scifi, stargate, stargate sg1.
This was a neat but kind of strange episode…who cares about the ‘lucian’ (?) alliance anyways right?
The real fight is Orii…or maybe I’ve got it wrong..and the alliance is helping the Orii??
IN any event a neat on Earth episode where we see Col Mitchell’s Kansas hometown..and for plot dev purposes…also shows us his future love interest and the future of the lucian alliance.
I wonder why these strong Stargate Military types always have to be from Rural areas…doesn’t anyone live in New York?

Wow solid episode.
The whole time it has you hanging and second guessing – Is Daniel an Orii lackey or is he telling the truth?
Is disablling the wormhole blocking the supergate a good thing or not?
Is Daniel ‘involved’ with the Orisii Adria?
Much much better than the last bunch of Stargate SG-1 Episodes and one that definately engaged me from beginning till the end…
Not much farther to go…
Stargate SG-1 10×15 The Road Not Taken April 28, 2007Posted by showmescifi in science fiction, sciencefiction, scifi, stargate atlantis, stargate sg1.
Parallel Mirror Universe stuff is no stranger to SciFi or Stargate.
Stargate SG-1 Season Ten episode 15 The Road Not Taken is not the best parallel universe episode to ever appear on Stargate SG-1 but it certainly was entertaining.
I tend to prefer mirror universes where the good guys are evil – in this case Landry as President of the US is just a bit evil but still..
All told a solid episode..but again one that doesn’t particularly advance the overall grand plot in the battle against the ori…
Only a few more episodes left and then that’s it for US broadcast TV’s run for Stargate SG-1.
Stargate SG-1 Season 10 Line in the Sand April 20, 2007Posted by showmescifi in science fiction, sciencefiction, scifi, stargate, stargate sg1.
Not a bad episode but not a great one either.
Something goes wrong when SG-1 attempts to use Merlin’s phasing device to hide a village from the Ori army, forcing Mitchell and the critically wounded Carter to hide themselves out of phase from an occupation force of ruthless Ori soldiers
It’s entirely predictable and not particularly challenging except for Vala’s Ori husband who defies the prior.
Beyond that…looking forward to the next episode….countdown to the series finale is still on…

Having finally overcome all the obstacles protecting the sangraal, SG-1 and Ba’al are automatically beamed away from the underground cavern at the end of their quest, leaving an infuriated Adria behind. Arriving in a new chamber, they are astonished to discover not the mystical weapon they’ve been hunting, but rather an old man frozen in a stasis pod. The sangraal was actually destroyed long ago. In its place, however, sleeps the one man who can build a second version of the weapon: Merlin himself.
Great episode from top to bottom. No suprises as SG-1 figures out how to defeat the dragon…
FUNNIEST LINE in the whole episode is when the team is trying to guess the dragon’s real name and Teal’C deadpans with his name suggestion of – “PUFF”.
but an interesting twist with the discovery of Merlin.
Too bad Merlin himself dies..
And too bad that Daniel gets captured by the Orii.
Oh well. Guess that just helps to set up the next few episode where SG-1 will undoubtedly track, locate and save Daniel. The countdown for the final episode of Season 10 is on!!
Stargate Universe will be the third stargate series March 25, 2007Posted by showmescifi in scifi, stargate, stargate atlantis, stargate sg1, stargate universe.
It’s official! Following in the footsteps of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis will be the new Stargate Universe Series.
Details on the new series so far are very sparse- we don’t know for example when the show will actually air. Though it is being targetted for sometime in 2008.
BUT we do know that it won’t be a prequel or something in the far future, though it’s not a spin off of either of the two existing franchises.
The new series has been conceived to be “a completely separate, third entity,” executive producer Robert C. Cooper said in an interview — “much more so than Atlantis was. Atlantis was much more of a spin-off series of SG-1 and was sort of born out of SG-1.”
Apparently the show will also deal with the 9th Chevron the stargate (most addresses requiring 7 chevron with the 8th being for distance).
More information (though few hard details) are available in the full length interview on Gateworld.

SciFi.com is now actively promoting its own SciFi wiki called SciFipedia. It’s an effort to build out a complete ‘encyclopedia’ of SciFi shows, characters, games and other such trivia.
SciFi.com is expecting/hoping that people will freely give up their time and knowledge to help build out the content. Not a bad idea and one that Wikipedia has proven works.
There is a big glaring monstrous problem with it though.
USE OF SCIFIPEDIA CONTENT
Wikipedia is totally different in that the GNU Free Documentation license and Creative Commons licenses are all about letting information be free. Part of the incentive of contribution is knowing that you’re setting information free for any/all to benefit from.
Speaking of contributions, at Wikipedia anyone can contribute at any time. There is no need to register if you don’t want too. I’ve contributed many hundreds of entries to wikipedia and have never once registered.
With Scifipedia you have to register or you can’t contribute.
The policy for SCIFIPEDIA is that only registered members will be allowed to contribute entries. The registration will be handled though the SCIFI.COM main website, and registered SCIFI.COM members need only log in. A name and email address will be required, and you’ll need to follow an authentication procedure to become a registered member.
So what am I saying?
I’m saying if you’re going to give of your own free time and will to help enrich and educate why not do so in the most free, most collaborative and most used media the world has ever known. Forget about scifipedia – contribute to Wikipedia.
Stargate Atlantis : Dr. Carson Beckett’s Funeral February 21, 2007Posted by showmescifi in scifi, stargate, stargate atlantis, stargate sg1, YouTube.
We’ve known since early this year that Dr. Carson Beckett would be leaving Stargate Atlantis. We also know that Beckett is being replaced by actress Jewel Staite from Firefly
Though in North America Stargate Atlantis Season 3 is currently on hiatus until April, Stargate’s producers have already filmed the rest of the season –
In fact if you don’t want to wait until April (or later) to see the most important moment of Season 3, you don’t have too.
WARNING ! The video below shows the funeral of Dr. Carson Beckett, if you don’t want to wait till it airs then don’t click play. Otherwise, without any further ado…the Funeral of Dr. Carson Beckett.
Col. Carter Set to Join Stargate Atlantis crew full time. February 20, 2007Posted by showmescifi in scifi, stargate, stargate atlantis, stargate sg1.
Amanda Tapping who plays Lt. Col. Samantha Carter on Stargate SG-1 is moving to Stargate Atlantis as a full time character starting with season 4.
Stargate SG-1 ends its 10 year run this year and will live on in direct to DVD movies.
Tapping is now signed up to be in 14 of Atlantis’s 20 episodes. Will she end up as McKay’s love interest (hope not)?! With two braniacs on the Atlantis base, i hope the action quotient stays high..and hey Col Carter is certainly no stranger to action.

Studio Continues Record Breaking Franchise by Releasing “Stargate: The Ark of Truth” and “Stargate: Continuum”
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM) announced today the extension of the hit “Stargate SG-1” franchise with two movies based on the popular series. Titled “Stargate: The Ark of Truth” and “Stargate: Continuum”, the movies will both be made available to the television universe and home entertainment marketplace by MGM. The announcement was made by Charles Cohen, Senior Executive Vice President, MGM.
“`Stargate SG-1′ is to MGM Television what the ‘James Bond,’ ‘Pink Panther’ and the ‘Rocky’ franchises are to our feature film unit,” said Cohen. “We are committed to continuing to release new SG-1 content and its `Stargate Atlantis’ spin-off, and we’re also steadfast in our dedication to extending the franchise. ‘Stargate’ is an indelible brand for MGM and we will support it well into the future.”
With its high quality production values, long-term stability in the show’s leadership and strong chemistry between the lead actors in the series, all of whom have big audience appeal, “Stargate SG-1” is the longest-running science-fiction series in U.S. TV history. The series has a strong worldwide fan base and can be seen in over 120 countries. “Stargate SG-1” cast members Ben Browder, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Claudia Black and Michael Shanks are confirmed to star in both movies. Written and produced by Brad Wright and Robert Cooper, the new movies will feature the latest visual and sound effects, providing viewers with a theatrical movie-going experience.
In the first movie, “Stargate: The Ark of Truth” will bring a conclusion to the primary storyline of the past two seasons of the SG-1 television series. More thrills and action-packed scenes are planned for this special event movie, which will be directed by Cooper. The suspense will end as fans will see the conclusion of the epic Ori saga.
In the second movie, “Stargate: Continuum” the SG-1 team is now free to embark on new and exciting adventures throughout the endless Stargate universe.
Below are the synopses for the new “Stargate” movies:
“Stargate: The Ark of Truth”
As SG-1 searches for an Ancient artifact which they hope can defeat the armies of the Ori, they learn more Ori ships are about to be sent through the supergate to launch a final assault on Earth. Daniel discovers that the artifact, the Ark of Truth, may be in the Ori home galaxy, and SG-1 embarks aboard the Odyssey to find it, and pre-empt the attack. The IOA has a plan of their own and SG-1 ends up in a distant galaxy fighting two powerful enemies.
While SG-1 attends the execution of Ba’al, the last of the goa’uld system lords, Teal’c and Vala inexplicably disappear into thin air. Carter, Daniel and Mitchell race back to a world where history has been changed: the Stargate program has been erased from the timeline. As they try to convince the authorities what’s happened, a fleet of goa’uld motherships arrives in orbit, led by Ba’al, his queen, Katesh, (Vala) and his first prime, Teal’c. SG-1 must find the Stargate and set things right before the world is enslaved by the goa’uld.
